Paul Jaskunas at the Lithuanian Embassy

The Embassy of Lithuania in Washington, DC is pleased to invite you to an Evening of Poetry and Prose with Paul Jaskunas in conversation with Leeya Mehta.
Evening of Poetry and Prose will take place on May 13th, Tuesday, 2025, at 6:30 PM, in the Embassy of Lithuania in Washington, DC (2622 16th Street NW, Washington, DC, 20009).
Professor Paul Jaskunas is the author of two works of fiction: The Atlas of Remedies (Stillhouse Press) and Hidden (Free Press), which received the Friends of American Writers Award. He has also published two short volumes of poetry: Mother Ship, a chapbook, and Drawing Lessons, a collection of ekphrastic poetry in conversation with the art of Warren Linn. His writing has appeared in numerous periodicals, including the THINK, Tab, America, Spiritus, and the New York Times. He edits Full Bleed, a journal of art and literature published annually by the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he has served on the faculty since 2008.
Professor Leeya Mehta is a prize-winning poet, fiction writer and essayist, and the author of Towers of Silence and A Story of the World Before the Fence. Her novel Extinction, is forthcoming in 2026. She is simultaneously the Director of the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center which is part of the same group of organizations as Paul's publisher, Stillhouse Press. The Cheuse Center and Stillhouse Press fall under the umbrella of Watershed Lit at George Mason University. Mehta received the 2024 Faculty Civic Excellence Award for her work within the classroom, and the curation of the 13-month long Baldwin100 project.
