"Workshop" has always been the literary artist's studio space, but the way writers and students think about workshop is evolving. One of the leading change-thinkers is Matthew Salesses, author of CRAFT IN THE REAL WORLD: Rethinking Fiction Writing and Workshopping. Matthew's book examines the traditional workshop established by and for white male writers to re-imagine it in a way that invites and uplifts writers with diverse backgrounds and storytelling traditions. Matthew will be in conversation with Helon Habila, author of TRAVELLERS and a professor in George Mason University's MFA program.
