1455 Lit Arts Literary Festival July 18

1455 Lit Arts Literary Festival July 18

In 2020, The Cheuse Center participated in the inaugural 1455 Lit Arts Literary Festival in Winchester, Virginia. This year, the festival will be held online, and we at the Cheuse Center are thrilled to participate once again.

The theme of our panel this year will be Crossing Borders. Given that so many of us are unable to travel internationally while a highly infectious disease rages without consideration of nationality, I am particularly interested in discussing the idea of borders. I will be in conversation with two experienced and intrepid travelers, writers and artists—Robin Hemley and Justin Ahren—as they discuss issues related to nationhood, patriotism and identity.

The conversation will take place on Saturday, July 18, at 2:30 in the afternoon via Zoom. For more information on Robin and Justin, please see the link to our event. And for more information on the 1455 Lit Festival, how to register and who will be participating, please click here.

The Festival promises to be a wonderful way to celebrate literature, even if we cannot do so in person. And it is also a great opportunity to discover some new writers and books you can bring with you to the beach, your backyard, or whichever socially distant nook you relax and read in these days.
